Cleveland will play two doubleheaders in a row, which I’m sure will be fine

Saturday’s game between Cleveland and the Toronto Blue Jays has been postponed due to the threat of rain, according to the Blue Jays’ Twitter account. Turns out the rain that hammered Progressive Field Friday night was actually not real, but a CGI replication of what rain on Saturday might look like.

Saturday’s game will be made up on Sunday as a traditional doubleheader. With a doubleheader already slated for Monday against the White Sox as well, Cleveland will play four games in the span of a little over 24 hours with a starting rotation that has already been thinned out by injuries and a non-existent offense.

Everything is fine.

As of now, the schedule for Sunday and Monday is as follows:

  • Sunday, Game 1 vs. Toronto: 1:10 p.m.
  • Sunday, Game 2 vs. Toronto: 4:10 p.m.
  • Monday, Game 1 vs. Chicago: 3:05 p.m.
  • Monday, Game 2vs. Chicago, 6:35 p.m.

And then as a nice cherry on top, they’ll play an early 6:10 p.m. start on Tuesday and finally a 1:10 p.m. getaway game on Wednesday before a much-needed off-day on Thursday.
