Andre Drummond Not Expected to Miss Extended Time
Whatever curse was placed on the Los Angeles Lakers locker room is working. After Anthony Davis and LeBron James went down with injuries, newly acquired big man Andre Drummond is also dealing with a toe injury. According to Dave McMenamin, the injury isn’t expected to keep him out for an extended period of time, and Drummond should only miss a game or two.
The Lakers recently signed Drummond after being bought out by the Cleveland Cavaliers. His injury occurred 14 minutes into his tenure with the Lakers as he appeared to be dealing with discomfort in his two big toes.
Expect Marc Gasol to start in place of Drummond, while he resolves the injury. Gasol cleared health and safety protocols a short while ago and has been working his way back into game shape.
The Lakers’ next six games come every other day starting tomorrow. Best case scenario, Drummond is available Sunday against the Los Angeles Clippers. Otherwise, his return will come once the Lakers embark on their five-game Eastern road trip.
The Brooklyn Nets usurped the Lakers as betting favorites to win the NBA Finals at FanDuel Sportsbook. The Lakers are currently priced at +300 to repeat as champions.
