[Esports] Practice makes perfect

0 3

by Miguel Ceja

Welcome back, Fighting Bees! First, I would like to say that unfortunately we are still deliberating on who to add to the Battle Royale (BR) team. My apologies to the ones who tried out, we will try to let you know as soon as possible!

Secondly, I would like to thank one of the St. Ambrose Athletic Trainers, Jason Vorwerk, for coming into our Mental Coaching session to show us different stretches and techniques to improve our posture and endurance in our games!

Onto the current events of the team, I must remind everyone that practice is practice. This last week was relatively slow for the BR team, with only one tournament having been played in by only one team. The rest of the team has been prepping for an upcoming 2-v-2 Gunfight tournament tomorrow. Be sure to look at our next post for the results! Touching back on the tournament we played this last week, it was an Apex Leaderboard Tournament. Our players needed to score enough points after 4 games in order to progress to the next round. In this particular tournament, placement in your matches gave you the most amount of points, with each kill equaling only one point. Unfortunately, our team came in last place, with few placement points. However, when our freshman collegiate team is playing against pro teams such as Rogue and Team Solo Mid, it can be extremely difficult to adapt to the situation at hand. However, with each one of these tournaments our players compete in, it is one more chance to take teams like those down. Sometimes you have to be kicked before you can kick back.

Practice makes perfect.
