[Men's Wrestling] Warriors Split Duals at GPAC/Cascade Challenge

CHANDLER, Ariz. – Midland University won a pair and lost a pair of duals on Sunday at the inaugural GPAC/Cascade Dual Challenge. Midland was joined by Concordia University, Hastings College, and Morningside College in representing the Great Plains Athletic Conference while the Cascade Collegiate Conference was represented by Eastern Oregon University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Life Pacific College, and University of Providence. The Cascade won the first year of the challenge, winning 10 duals while the GPAC won just 6.

No. 9 Midland opened the day with a 31-18 loss to No. 5 Providence. The Warriors won four the ten bouts. Jonas Gaytan won via forfeit at 125, while Julian Gaytan pinned Eli Walston at the 3:23 mark at 133. Tristan Zamilpa won a narrow decision over TJ Baun at 149 and then Stephon Gray defeated Alex Quick via a 4-1 decision at 174.
