- The Chicago White Sox roll out their “B” lineup today (with the exception of Welington Castillo and Matt Davidson). The team’s 2017 second round draft pick, Gavin Sheets, starts at first base. Between the Arizona Fall League and Kannapolis last year, Sheets hit .279, with four home runs and 23 walks. He was also a career .300 hitter at Wake Forest.
- Reynaldo Lopez starts for the White Sox today. He will face the San Diego Padres “A” lineup, so this will be a good test for the young righthander. Lopez was roughed up in his last outing, giving up four earned runs on eight hits and one walk in 4 ⅓ innings pitched.
- Luis Perdomo starts for the Padres. Perdomo went 8-11 with a 4.67 ERA in 29 games started. The righthander has had some difficulties this spring, boasting a 7.59 ERA and 1.69 WHIP.
- Daryl Van Schouwen reported this morning that Jose Abreu is in a good mood and hopes to play Friday. A beat writer lives to report that a player is “in a good mood.” Rock on, DVS!

Also, Tim Anderson needs a walk-up song. Please help him out. Pay very close attention to the hashtagged qualifier: #NeedSomeRealHeatTho. That is a crucial consideration, SSS. Bring the real heat, not some half-ass heat.
I need some walk out options guys!#NeedSomeRealHeatTho
