[Men's Indoor Track & Field] Three School Records Fall in Season Opener at Rose-Hulman
The men's track team competed at Rose-Hulman University for their first indoor meet of the season. The growing team added triple jump and shot put for the first time indoors. Colton Metcalf is the first men's triple jumper, jumping 11.14m on his second jump. Zac Johnson who threw shot put and discus last outdoor season threw for 9.56m on his first throw followed by Lucas Petit (5.61).
Jaleel Parris broke Brescia's Indoor 60m dash record with a 7.39 seconds finish just edging out Landon Holt who finished in 7.45 seconds. Zac Johnson was the 3rd runner finishing in 8.33 seconds. Landon Holt and Jaleel Parris both ran the 200m dash. This time Landon Holt (23.89 seconds and 4th overall) edged out Jaleel Parris (24.97s) and just missed his previous record set last year at 23.36 seconds. Brent Crawford ran a personal best (25.44s) finished third on the team followed by both Cameron Davis (26.06s) and Colton Metcalf (26.73s). The men's 4x200m relay team finished 3rd with a time of 1:41.35. Freshman Devin Watts was the top placing bearcat in the 400m finishing in 57.78s followed by freshman Cameron Davis in 59.04s.
Middle distance runner Chase McCauley ran both the mile and 800m. He finished the mile in just under five minutes coming in at 4:57.67 and finished his 800m run in 2:17.
Distance runner Kyle Robinson dropped down to the 3000m run and finished in 9:41.40.
The Men's team finished with 25 points edging out Kentucky Wesleyan (20.50 points) for 7th place out of 9.
The Bearcats travel to Greencastle, In. for the Tiger Small College Invitational February 2. First events set to starts at 5:00pm.
