MARKLAND HILL CLIMB TABLE WITH COMFORTABLE WIN
Markland Hill C who are currently eighth in Section B of the Bolton Badminton League, drew level on points with seventh placed Hawkshaw C following a comfortable 12-6 win at home.
Following on from last year's success, Forrest Badminton Club are holding another Ceilidh this Saturday. The event is open to all players in the League, their families and their friends. They don't even have to be badminton players, the more the merrier!

Sharples B won a thriller with Forrest D in a game that went to the last match of the night in Section B. Sharples second couple, Kath Heywood and Steve Duckworth, took the first mixed 21-14 against Forrest’s Gerry Fielding and Greg White.
SUPER MARKLAND STAY ON A WINNER
Markland Hill A extended their 100 per cent record in Section A with a sixth straight win at Oakgate B. But the score line did not do justice to the third bottom team.

MIXED EMOTIONS FOR MOORSIDERS
Moorside teams had mixed fortunes in the first round of the Bolton League’s Handicapped Cup. The Smithills Sports Centre based B team lost at home to D.L. Farnworth but the handicap system worked in favour of their D team who had a narrow victory at GMT.

Reigning A Section champions Bury BC sent out an early season warning with a 13-5 victory over Forrest A in their first match of the season.
The scoreline was hard on a Forrest side who gave their opponents a difficult night.

Forrest B team of Lisa Harrison, Anne Egerton, Jenny Ball, Will Wiseman, Chris Saunders and Mahendra Patel, played host to a very strong and determined Oakgate A who took the match 17-1.

D.L. Farnworth A team played host to Forrest B with Laura Bradley and Adam Rowan taking the first two mixed opening the score for Farnworth setting the stage for the next four games which all went Farnworth’s way comfortably.
