European Youth Weightlifting Championship: Armenian qualifies for finals after beating Turkish rival (video)
The 2018 European Youth Weightlifting Championship, being held in Rome, Italy, has seen an Armenian participant paving his way for the final round after gaining advantage over a Turkish rival.
Tigran Minasyan (w/c 55kg) beat Cihat Liman 14-4 on Monday. In the finals, he will face Italy’s Giovani Freni.
Vahe Poghosyan (77kg), who lost the semi-finals to Russia’s Yegor Kadirov, is going to fight for bronze.
Four more Armenia weightlifters, Ararat Manucharyan (60kg), Ashot Kirakosyan (67kg), Malkhas Amoyan (72kg) and Erik Eloya (82kg), will compete on the ring later today.
