Taufatofua setting sights on third Olympic sport at Tokyo 2020

Pyeongchang, South Korea (dpa) - Tonga‘s Olympian Pita Taufatofua is turning his sights on the Summer Olympics again after his Winter Games debut, considering a new sport for Tokyo 2020."I‘ve mentioned before that I will possibly be looking at a third sport for my own personal development as well. It would be something along the lines of water," he told a news conference Saturday.The 34-year-old competed in taekwondo at his Rio 2016 debut and in cross-country skiing in Pyeongchang where he finished 114th and third-last in the 15km Friday after qualifying at the last instance at a race in Iceland."I would like to find something where I qualify a lot earlier than two weeks before the Olympics. That gave us a lot of challenges and a lot to do in a very short time," he said.Taufatofua has gained worldwide attention, not so much for his sporting achievements but for marching bare-chested and all oiled up at the opening ceremonies in Rio and Pyeongchang.
