Women In Sport Week Preview

0 1

Swim Ireland is set to celebrate Women in Sport Week (2nd – 8th March)

Swim Ireland has been passionate about driving female participation in aquatics for many years. We have delivered numerous successful programmes, collaborating with various stake holders to ensure that our programmes and initiatives remain at the forefront of Women in Sport across Ireland.

The Swim Ireland Women in Sport Action Plan is aligned to the four key pillars of the Sport Ireland Women in Sport Strategy: Active Participation, Leadership and Governance, Coaching and Officiating, and Visibility.

This year’s theme for Women in Sport Week is ‘Same Energy’– a call to all of us to show up for women’s sport with the same anticipation, visibility, and respect it deserves, every day. Whether you’re a player, coach, volunteer, supporter, or fan – this week is about you.

We have plenty on offer this year to celebrate this special week we have invited Irish Olympians Mona McSharry and Ellen Walshe to host a very exciting Question and Answer session on Monday 2nd of March (register here).

We will be offering discounts on continual professional development (CPD) courses (10%) and the RAP Premium (10%).

Check out discounted CPD courses on offer – these courses will be discounted for women, when booking during Women in Sport Week (2nd to 8th of March). Use code WIS26 at checkout to avail of the discount.

We also have a range of participation programmes starting during Women in Sport Week. Our programmes include Swimmin’ Women, Sauna and Dips, Come and Try Taster Lessons, and Mother – Daughter Artistic Swimming. Head to our Participation Programme page for details and registration links.

Be sure to follow Swim Ireland across our socials during Women in Sport Week where we will be celebrating women who participate in our sport across all levels from coaches, to officials, participants and athletes. Each day on our socials will host a different theme:

  • Monday – Coaching
  • Tuesday – Leadership
  • Wednesday – Visibility
  • Thursday – Officiating
  • Friday – Participation
  • Saturday – Community
  • Sunday – International Women’s Day
