European Aquatics Open Water Swimming Cup 2025 Leg 4 in Barcelona: Bulletin now available
European Aquatics is pleased to announce that the official bulletin is now available for the fourth leg of the 2025 European Aquatics Open Water Swimming Cup, which is set to take place in the city of Barcelona on 20 September.
Taking place after the first three legs in Protaras, Setubal and Paris, the nation’s top marathon swimmers head to the Spanish coast for the penultimate stop of the five-round series. Barcelona. The event will be held at Moll de Bosch i Alsina, in the heart of the city’s Port Vell. The course will consist of four 2.5km laps, with the men’s 10km race starting at 12:00 and the women’s race at 12:10. The official training sessions will be hosted by Club Natació Atlètic-Barceloneta (CNAB).
This leg of the Cup is organised in partnership with the Royal Spanish Swimming Federation (RFEN), under the leadership of President Fernando Carpena Perez, and supported by a dedicated local organising committee.
As in all legs of the European Aquatics Open Water Swimming Cup, ranking points will be awarded according to the official rules, and prize money will be distributed to the top three ranked European athletes in each gender: €2,500 for first place, €1,500 for second, and €1,000 for third. With only one stage remaining after Barcelona, this race presents a crucial opportunity for athletes to begin to round-off what has already been an exciting open water season.
Key dates for the Barcelona stage include the preliminary entry and accommodation deadline on 11 July, the visa application deadline on 20 July, and the final submission of travel and accommodation forms by 20 August. Official training will be held on 18 and 19 September, with the team leaders meeting on 19 September at 13:00. The competition itself will take place on 20 September.
