Still micro
Hello Friends,
The ocean’s looking like a lake. Out at sea the MHL buoy was detecting a 0.9 metre, 9-second south by SSW swell, so the low energy conditions aren’t unexpected. But change is on the way. The Bureau tells us that by this afternoon, we could be seeing the first hint of the expected south pulse. By tomorrow as it clouds over and we see a 95% chance of rain, the south swell should be obvious. There could be a window of opportunity for a wave before the southerly wind ramps up. Right now it looks like Thursday will see solid south swell but with stiff south wind. Friday could be more of the same. The models show the swell pushing into the 3 metre range on Saturday but the call is for continuing strong SSE wind and rain through Sunday.
Anyway, have a good one!
Weather Situation
A low pressure system is centred to the south of Tasmania while a high pressure ridge extends across the north, directing a fresh to strong, gusty westerly airstream over the coastal waters. Another low pressure system is forecast to enter the state’s far west today and cross the state, reaching the north coast on Wednesday before heading offshore. A trough is forecast to brush the coast in the wake of the low, whipping fresh and gusty southerly winds, then the system may deepen to yet another low pressure system off the north coast during the weekend before heading offshore by early next week.
