Swell still doing its thing
Hello Friends,
A few people were in the water at Dee Why when I grabbed the snaps around 0630. They were dealing with the same lumpy conditions we saw yesterday and again, the beach was consistently bigger than the point. At 0700 wind was coming from the NNE at 5-7 kts and the MHL buoy data from 0600 showed it was 2 metres at 10 seconds from the E-ENE. Tide was coming in to the 1.36 m high at 0950.
There were a few sunny break early, but the forecast of possible showers and a mainly cloudy day looked entirely plausible.
Outlook for the coming surf week remains good. If the models have it right, we could see light offshore breezes and a steady supply of east to ENE swell at around the current size through the work week. And then, if they’re right, it bumps up over the weekend and carries on into next week.
Not a bad week for me and my buddy to head off on Surfari to Lennox and environs. Expect postcards!

Weather Situation
A strong high-pressure system near New Zealand is extending a ridge over New South Wales coastal waters, maintaining northeast to southeasterly winds. Winds continue to remain fresh north to northeasterly during today as a cold front and its associated trough approach the east of the state, before a shift to south to southwesterly winds later in the week in the systems wake.
