So southerly, so sorry

0 1

Hello Friends,

A sub-par surf outlook this morning for Sydney. Wind went south at midnight and as of 0800 was 11-15 kts. Skies were drizzly and leaden and although the dead south swell had bumped up into the 2.3 metre range by 0600, the average period was a gutless 7-8 seconds. So, if you like sloppy, weak, knee-to-waist high grovellers, chilly onshore wind and the occasional spot of rain, today’s your day. The only good thing is that you can have any spot you like pretty much to yourself!

The showers should be just about gone by this time tomorrow, but the skies will still be grey and the wind southerly. Maybe slightly less miss-able than today but far from enticing. Thursday is looking more hopeful though. By then the weather will be back to partly cloudy and average periods for the south swell could be into the 10 second range while wind is currently forecast to be light for the early session. Beyond that, the long range models predict a return to more gloom for Friday and Saturday along with an uptick in swell size but a decrease in period and more south wind. Spring has sprung.

Go well with your Tuesday one and all!
