Clean and rideable Friday morning
Hello Friends,
Another smooth morning with waves in the waist-plus range on sets for Sydneysiders. Wind was 6-9 kts WSW when I grabbed the pics around 0930. Swell out at sea was 2.6 metres at 9 seconds and coming from 186 ° (ie south by SSW), so most of the energy is arcing away from the coast. Weather was partly cloudy with the odd sunny break but there’s still an 80% chance of showers. RealSurf HQ recorded 62mm of rain yesterday, so it was unsurprising to see that Beachwatch is advising that pollution is possible at Dee Why (and elsewhere).

Weather Situation
A trough over central New South Wales waters may develop a low pressure system off the Illawarra coast later in the morning. This system is expected to remain near the coast today and then move away to the southeast on Saturday. After this, a new high pressure system will extend a ridge across from the west. The next cold front is forecast to arrive during the first half of next week.
