The Goat’s Surf Forecast
The Goat’s Surf Forecast
Surf forecast issued Thursday 9 June 2022: Seven day outlook for Sydney
Cold, windy, annoying and downright offensive at times!
That’s TG for you.
Oh, and the weather has been pretty much like that too.
The waves looked pretty as a picture today, as they rolled in on a strong pulse from far away down south, and were met by a lazy offshore breeze.
The wind was determined to keep the temperature down after bringing cold air all the way up from Antarctica and across to us (even at 2pm the apparent temperature was still struggling to get north of 5 degrees).

So despite the pretty waves, sunny skies and offshore “breeze”, there were few takers in the water today.
It was still nice to watch it all, warm and sheltered in a car, or rugged up in a horse blanket outside.
Maybe TG will be proved wrong, but he won’t be surprised with a string of cold days forecast ahead if crowds might still be generally down, despite an outlook of good medium to larger surf and a strong pulse pushing the swell into a lot of places.
TG says know your own limitations in these conditions. If you’re not sure, sit it out and watch Nature at work. Go for a jog.
Or immerse yourself here over the long weekend, enjoying looking at some historic surfing and other pics>>>>

Here’s a useful bonus tip too…TG says reheating hot chips at home in the microwave just doesn’t work. Eat ’em while they’re hot.
Friday: somewhere in the 2-3 metre range South South East
Saturday: similar
Sunday: same same but more South East
Monday: ditto
Tuesday: up a bit, into the 3-4 metre range South East
Wednesday: starting to ease back somewhere in the 1-2 metre range South East
Thursday: something similar.
Stay safe.
TG.

Down in the Sea
Water temp is starting to get chilly…19-20. Saw 6 whales the other day..none before, none since. Think they might be further out, avoiding the cool patch of ocean currently (get it?) off Sydney.
