Well, there’s a happy turn up for the books. I was expecting the return of cloudy showery weather and a decline in the swell. But, as the pictures show, it’s bigger and more consistent than yesterday. The point seemed to be mostly missing it, but the peaks up the beach were producing shoulder to head and a bit high wave faces. The wind was 9-12 kts from the west at 0730. However… the Bureau tells us it’ll be SE by late morning. So, the best advice is to jump on it asap. Swell was 1.8 metres at 9 seconds from the SE. Water’s clean and 23C.
Tide was low at 0600 and will hit a moderate 1.36 m high at noon – when the wind should be into it. Plus the blue skies are expected to gradually cloud over as we face a 70% chance of showers.

A cold front is brushing the southern coastal waters this morning, then a strong high pressure system to the south of the Bight will extend a ridge along the New South Wales coast in the wake, directing east to southeasterly winds over coastal parts for the second half of the week and into the weekend.
