Give it a miss this morning

Hello Friends,

No good reason to rush down to the beach on Friday morning. Conditions were bad thanks to a couple days of relentless NE wind and a much faded remnant swell from Seth. It was down to 2.2 metres at 7 seconds from the east as of 0840. Couldn’t see anyone in from south to North Narrabeen and there were only a couple extremely hopefuls at Dee Why where the utterly gutless slop was around the knee to maybe waist high mark. It was cleaner and a touch bigger up toward Longy, but again, the waves have so little energy that it takes an heroic effort to even catch one. Throw in the heavy overcast, regularly showery skies and it pretty much screams “do something else!”

As for our prospects, well, the Mighty Goat who has seen it all a thousand times before, has weighed in with usual sparkling words of wisdom. Fun fact: the Goat’s mild mannered alter ego, Roger Sayers authored a book back in the days before the internet!

Got a PCR test yesterday and while I’m clear, my dear wife joins our daughter and the 400+ folks with COVUD reported in our postcode this week. The actual number will be much higher, but since we’re now individually responsible for pandemic matters, the real number will remain unknown. So, keep that N95 mask on when you’re around others and try to find RAT kits as best you can. As State and Federal govenment have made clear, it’s all down to our personal decision making. If we fall down on the job by not sourcing N95s, RAT kits etc, apparently we’ve only ourselves to blame. /s
Apologies for the snark, but when your two dearest are sick and there’s literally no official response beyond a single text message from a private provider telling you to isolate, I think you can understand my volcanic anger.
Best wishes to you all. -Don

Tried to get into it…
Cleanish up toward Longy, but weak, small and inconsistent too
