Weak and junky along the beaches

About the only good thing you can say about today’s conditions is that it’s not actually flat. Oh, and the water’s lovely and warm. But other than that, it’s really weak, super messy and struggling to make waist plus on the rare sets. Wind has been blowing ENE since midnight and as of 1030 it was 15-22 kts. The Bureau tells us it’s going to get stronger too. And tomorrow and Saturday are shaping to be the same.
Swell at sea is around 2 metres from the east at 9 seconds.
Personal note: Following daughter’s COVID + PCR a few days ago, her mother and I drove into town to Miller’s Point where she’d been tested, with the results back 18 hours later. The line was moving steadily, and we were back to the car in under an hour. Plus the drive in at peak hour was nuts. We basically drove at the speedlimit from the Northern Beaches to Miller’s Point. Plainly the new individual responsibility pandemic response is effectively pretty close to a lock down.
Weather Situation
The remnant system of Ex-Tropical Cyclone Seth is slowly heads northwest towards the Queensland coast and weakening while a ridge of high pressure extends across central and southern waters, with the ridge forecast to strengthen over the coming days. A trough is then expected to move through the region later in the week, bringing a southerly wind change to the southern half of the coast on Saturday. This change is expected to stall on the Hunter or Mid North coasts on Sunday.
