Near flat, sorry
Hello Friends,
A bright and breezy start to Saturday with mostly clear skies and 11-17 kts of NNW wind by 0600. Out at sea the swell had dialled back to a metre overnight, but the period was still close to 10 seconds and the primary direction was SSE (168°). Tide was dropping to the low at 1030 and temps were a bit cool for this time of year as we head to a high for the day of 22C.
Yesterday’s peaky but very soft little windswell has been replaced by ankle to knee high lines that were only just catchable at energy focus points like North Narrabeen and between the pole and the lagoon entrance at Long Reef. Best options are SUPs, mals and a hopeful attitude. While the average period has improved, the waves are so little that it barely matters.
Outlook is for a little south pulse overnight which might leave us with slightly more energy tomorrow morning at the magnets. Wind should be offshore again too, so it’ll definitely be worth getting up early to check conditions. With luck there might be the odd waist high plus…
If the models have it right, we could see a bit more size at south magnets on Wednesday and there might be the odd opportunity Tuesday too…
Enjoy the beautiful weather this morning and stay safe one and all.
Weather Situation
A complex area of low pressure in the Tasman extends a trough in the south before clearing the coast later today as the low moves away to New Zealand. A second deep low, then moves from south of Tasmania to New Zealand on Sunday to Monday pushing further fronts and troughs across the south, with a ridge starting to build from the west thereafter.
