Small and scruffy
Hello Friends,
There were a few little remnants of the south swell left in the mix, but apart from well protected north corners like North Curly (see below), the NNE wind that’s been blowing since late yesterday morning ensured the open stretches were choppy. Sets looked to be in the knee to maybe waist-high range and swell at sea was 1.3 metres from the SSE at 10 seconds. At 0900 the wind was 7-13 kts from the NNE. Tide was coming into the 1125 1.56 m high. Weather should be partly cloudy as we head to a high of 29. Beachwatch tells us the water is a crazy 25.
The extra puny conditions are looking like continuing through the weekend, but the swell models are holding out hope of a south pulse filling in Monday (with lots of south wind). Next Tuesday and Wednesday currently look hopeful for the south magnets in the mornings. But, that’s a long way out, so we’ll see…
Go well!
Weather Situation
A cold front is forecast to pass to the south today while its associated trough crosses the southern and central parts of the coast on Thursday, bringing a fresh southerly wind change in the wake before reaching the north coast later in the week. The second cold front looks set to brush the state’s east on Sunday, with a surge of strong southerly winds in the wake.
