Sunny and near flat

Hello Friends, Sunny skies and a moderate offshore wind as Sunday got started – but not much in the way of a wave at Dee Why. The dominant swell at sea was 1.7 metres at 9 seconds from the south but there was also some 8-second component from the NE as well.

Hello Friends, Early risers scored some weakish waist-plus wave faces at the better exposures this morning. Swell at sea was a metre at 8 seconds from the NE and wind before 0800 was coming lightly from the north under hazy grey skies.

Hello Friends, Only a few places doing anything interesting with the 1.8 metre, 8 second NE wind swell this morning. Just the usual summer suspects. Sets at the best exposures were into the shoulder plus range and although the period’s on the short side, some sections had a bit of energy to them.

Hello Friends, Well, as expected, surf conditions are awful as Wednesday gets started. The NE wind was 15-20 kts by 0630, smashing the little 6-sec period choppy NE wind swell. Skies were clouding over, making the forecast 90% chance of 4-10mm of rain later look entirely plausible.

Hello Friends, Looks like a nice morning for a beach walk or a swim at Dee Why. Surfwise you’d be lucky to get something in the knee high range. Swell at sea was 0.8 m at 12 seconds from the ENE, so there should be the occasional catchable set at optimal exposures.
