Court rules bookmaker Esportes da Sorte’s five club sponsorship deals are legal
January 14 – Betting operator Esportes da Sorte will be allowed to maintain their presence in Brazil following a federal court injunction.
A sponsor of Corinthians, Bahia, Grêmio, Ceará and Náutico, Eportes da Sorte went to court after their legal status in the country and sponsorship deals with the clubs became unclear due of Brazil’s new betting legislation.
Federal law, introduced last year and enforceable as of January 1, requires betting operators to obtain a license that is valid nationwide,
