Bethe Correia vs. Irene Aldana booked for UFC 237 in Brazil

Bethe Correia once fought Ronda Rousey for the UFC bantamweight championship.

The UFC has once again booked Bethe Correia and Irene Aldana to meet inside the Octagon, multiple sources told MMA Fighting following a report by Combate.

“Pitbull” and “Robles” are set to collide at the UFC 237 pay-per-view event scheduled for May 11 in Brazil. An exact venue and location has yet to be announced by the promotion.

Correia (10-3-1), a one-time bantamweight title challenger in the UFC, has been dealing with eye issues since her loss to Holly Holm in 2017. The Brazilian was booked to face Aldana last August, but was deemed unfit to compete at UFC 227 by the California State Athletic Commission.

Unlike “Pitbull”, Aldana (9-4) enters the bout coming off her best run so far in the UFC with back-to-back decision victories over Talita Bernardo and Lucie Pudilova in 2018. The former Invicta FC title challenger is 2-2 under the UFC banner.

The UFC has yet to announce which bout will headline the pay-per-view show. Rose Namajunas will put her strawweight gold on the line against Jessica Andrade in the co-main event.
