Pitbull, 20-year-old male injured in early morning shooting
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The Albany Police Department is investigating an alleged shooting that happened on Lark Drive early Thursday morning. According to police, a 20-year-old male and a dog were found with gunshot wounds.
Police said around 1:40 a.m., officers responded to Lark Drive near Manning Boulevard for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they reported finding a 20-year-old male victim with gunshot wounds to his legs, shoulder and butt.
A preliminary investigation determined the victim was standing on the steps of a house when the shooting happened.
Police also reported finding a Pitbull inside the home that was hit when rounds entered the home. According to police, the dog was struck in the neck and leg.
Both the victim and the dog were treated at the scene before being transported for further treatment. According to police, the male victim was transferred to Albany Medical Center Hospital and is listed in stable condition.
The dog was transported to a veterinary hospital in Latham for treatment.
