Reality-TV Stars Have a Lot to Say About the Trump Shooting
On Saturday, former president and current presidential candidate Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Obviously, there is a lot to process about this weekend’s events, including what they mean for the rest of Trump’s campaign and the forthcoming 2024 election. So who better to weigh in than a gaggle of reality-TV personalities?
This, it seems, was the thinking of some chatty stars, who quickly took to social media to share their thoughts and prayers in the aftermath of the Trump rally shooting. In an Instagram Story, former Bachelor Nick Viall called the incident a “wake up call to stop demonizing people who share different political beliefs and values,” using a second post to correct his spelling (“probably not from me if their isn’t a typo”), and a third post to correct the spelling of “there” in his correction post (“*there”). Elsewhere, Vanderpump Rules star Rachel Leviss (formerly known as Raquel) updated her followers that, after a “very long day of hiking,” she felt that “no matter your political views, violence is never the answer.”

There was also an influx of opinions from the extended Real Housewives universe, including former RHONY star Bethenny Frankel. “This one’s for the trolls coming in this morning, ‘Oh, you’re not gonna speak about the Trump situation?’” Frankel said in a video on Sunday, with her reusable iced-coffee cup positioned prominently in the frame. “For people to wonder why I’m posting about makeup and chicken salad and not about Trump having an attempted assassination attack,” Frankel said, “it’s because there are too many things to think and so many things that we definitely know, it’s a complete shitshow,” she concluded.
Meanwhile, Real Housewives of Potomac alum Candiace Dillard’s husband Chris Bassett offered up a much more succinct “I call bullshit.”
