[Shooting Sports] Shotgun Team Takes Fifth in Home Meet

The Doane Shooting Sports Shotgun team hosted the Doane Invite amid cool and windy conditions on Saturday and Sunday in Lincoln. Fort Hays State was the team champion with Doane placing 5th overall.

Sam Arnett (FR/Arlington, Neb.) led the Tigers with a 297 overall score. Skylar Clark (SO/Carleton, Mich.) was second on the team with a 293 and Payton DeTavernier (SO/Papillion, Neb.) finished with a 292. The Tiger's Top 5 was rounded out by Jack Olsen (SR/Frederick, Colo.) with a 290 and Trevin Alberts (SR/Lincoln, Neb.) with a 285.

DeTavernier was the women's champion in trap as she posted a 96, a team-best as well. Olsen led the team with a 94 in skeet and was joined by Clark for the team lead in super sporting with each breaking 40 targets. Arnett led the Tigers with a 75 in sporting clays.
