First there was new leadership, soon there will be a new look. The 1966-founded Bradford Marine, today one of South Florida’s leading marinas and yacht repair facilities, was acquired in January by father-and-son team, John and Michael Kelly, of Fort Lauderdale Yacht Harbor LLC. This fall, the Kelly’s announced the start of a renovation project designed to optimize the company’s short and long-term dockage, top-quality yacht repair and maintenance, and brokerage sales.

“We are excited to get started on this multi-phase renovation project to revitalize this iconic facility, and continue to build on its esteemed legacy,” says John Kelly, chief executive officer. “As lifelong boaters, we understand the needs and challenges of yacht owners, captains and crew, and our vision is to combine our business experience and love of yachting to bring highly valued updates to Bradford Marine.”

Phase One of the enhancement project calls for a complete facelift to facilities; a beautification project that includes landscaping, new paving and added parking and signage for ease of traffic flow; improved security features such as a staffed gated entrance and 24/7 on-site security; upgraded dockside electric; new high-speed internet; and a crew fitness center featuring state-of-the-art equipment.

Bradford Marine, which also has a location in Freeport, Grand Bahama, is one of the world’s largest covered facilities offering both short-term and long-term dockage, yacht servicing, and yacht sales, accommodating megayachts up to 180 feet LOA. www.bradford-marine.com
