David O S Binnie (1941 – 2026) David Binnie was an extremely well-known and popular Herioter at Goldenacre, and indeed at all the main rugby pitches and clubhouses across Scotland. He was also a keen tourist, maintaining Heriot’s deep relationship with the Lansdowne club in Dublin.
It was a balmy spring day at Stradey Park where a sizeable crowd witnessed an uncompromising battle for supremacy, with visitors Pontypridd ultimately holding out for the narrowest of victories by 31pts to 34.
