The city was officially declared the European Capital of Sport for 2018 at a ceremony in Brussels, Sofia Municipality said.
The ceremony was attended by three legendary Bulgarian champions – Tereza Marinova, Ekaterina Dafovska and Yordan Yovchev.
President Rumen Radev said that the Bulgarian institutions should unite and provide appropriate conditions for the training of gymnasts who have won medals in international competitions for years. Reports Btv.

“The Bulgarian rhythmic gymnastics group and their compositions are clearly the strongest worldwide. The group is currently seen as the biggest favourite but I should also say that they shouldn’t have made such a mistakes.
