Carrick to make 2 big changes | Predicted Man Utd XI vs Leeds United with 27yo fit to play
Manchester United take on Leeds United in tonight’s Premier League game at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils are currently third in the league standings with 55 points, seven ahead of sixth-placed Chelsea with a game in hand.
United have the opportunity to increase the advantage and put themselves in pole position for Champions League football.
Ahead of tonight’s game, interim manager Michael Carrick could make a couple of changes.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Predicted Line-up:
Senne Lammens has been a mainstay in goal for the Red Devils since his debut in October. The Belgian will be eyeing his sixth clean sheet of the league campaign.
In defence, there will be an enforced change with Harry Maguire suspended for the match after his straight red card against Bournemouth away from home before the international break.
Lisandro Martinez, who was sidelined for the last five games with a calf injury, has been in full training and should be drafted straight into the starting XI alongside Leny Yoro in central defence.
Diogo Dalot did not travel for the training camp in Dublin due to illness, but Carrick confirmed that the 27-year-old is back in contention. He should keep his place in the right-back position.
Luke Shaw is likewise expected to retain his position on the left side of the back four.
No changes are expected in the heart of the midfield. Casemiro has been superb since announcing his summer exit. The Brazilian is poised to partner Kobbie Mainoo once more.
Bruno Fernandes has been phenomenal with 16 assists and eight goals in the league this term. The club captain is a nailed-on starter from the number 10 position against Daniel Farke’s side.
We expect a change upfront. Benjamin Sesko, who has netted in four of his previous six league appearances, should be reinstated as the main striker by Carrick tonight.
In that case, Bryan Mbeumo could move to his regular right-wing position with Amad Diallo dropping to the bench. Matheus Cunha should start on the opposite wing for United.
