CLUB STATEMENT: TOMMY TO DEPART
Hanlon Departs for Overseas Opportunity
Royston Town Football Club can today confirm that long-serving kitman Tommy Hanlon will be leaving the club to follow an opportunity with Italian Serie D Nord side A.S. Foliap Doryl.
Tommy, who has been an integral part of the club behind the scenes for several years, departs Garden Walk after reportedly being offered an “unmissable opportunity” to ply his trade abroad.
Known for his meticulous attention to detail, unmatched dedication, and ability to produce a truly memorable dressing room celebration after victories. Tommy has been a hugely valued member of the club’s matchday and training operations.
Manager and players alike have paid tribute to his contribution, with several noting that “the dressing room won’t be the same without him.”
Speaking on his departure, Tommy said:
“I’ve loved every minute at Royston, but when an opportunity like this, with a club like A.S. Foliap Doryl, comes along, it’s hard to say no. I’m excited and also a bit nervous to move to Italy but I’ve always wanted to work in professional football and progress my career.”
The club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Tommy for his service and wishes him the very best for the future.
