U19s Return To Action Versus Motherwell
The wee Hibees return to league football - following an extended break from competitive action - with the visit of Motherwell to HTC.
The CAS Elite U19 League fixture will take place at 4pm on Tuesday 31 March.
Fixtures
- Hibernian U19s Vs. Motherwell U19s - Tue, Mar 31 2026, 15:00
THE LOWDOWN
A fortnight will have passed since Hibs U19s’ last match – which finished in a disappointing 1-0 loss to Dundee United.
Meeting at Foundation Park, the wee Hibees were frustrated by the home team’s resilience – falling to a late Jack Anderson strike after failing to convert plenty of chances throughout the 90.
It was the Hibees' first league defeat since January 2025, putting an end to a tremendous 22-match unbeaten league run that carried over from our title-winning campaign.
Despite the defeat, Hibs remain level on points with a game in hand over first-place Rangers after eight matches played.
THE VISITORS
Darren McGregor’s side have faced off against Motherwell twice in the past two months – winning both League Cup group stage encounters convincingly.
The first meeting ended 4-0 in Hibs’ favour as four different scorers – Dean Cleland, Zach Bruce, Jamie McMurdo and Reiss Downie – ran up the scoreline at HTC.
The most recent League Cup clash took place at K-Park earlier this month, on Monday 9 March.
A persistent Zach Bruce capitalised on a goalkeeping error to open the scoring, before a lovely finish from Luke Davidson and a late strike from Alisdair Burns quelled 10-man Motherwell on away turf.
The reverse fixture in the CAS Elite U19 League with the ‘Well – who currently sit bottom of the league standings – was back in August 2025.
Wide-forward McMurdo bagged a brace on the day at a sun-kissed Dalziel Park to seal all three points for the wee Hibees.
