DARTS WOMEN CONTINUE WINNING RUN AFTER 4-2 VICTORY OVER AYLESFORD

London and South East Regional Women’s Premier League, played on Sunday 8th March 2026.

Darts Women were back on home soil on Sunday afternoon as they welcomed Aylesford FC to Princes Park. The home side won 2-0 in the reverse fixture in early January and headed into this game full of confidence, following an unbeaten start to 2026.

The home side began the game brightly and were awarded a penalty early in the half. In the 7th minute, Darts forward Mya Lewis-Powell was fouled inside the box. Abbey Davies stepped up and fired home from the penalty spot to put the hosts in front.

The Darts continued to play on the front foot and doubled the lead midway through the first period. In the 24th minute, great work from Lottie Cunningham down the right ended with a shot from the Darts winger which flew beyond Aylesford keeper, Sade Ryder and into the roof of the net.

The visitors began to grow into the game late in the first half and got back into the game with their first real effort on goal. In the 40th minute, a mixup within the Darts defence saw the ball fall to Millie Selfe. The Aylesford forward headed home to get one goal back for the visitors before the break.

The visitors were in the ascendancy as the second half began and were level seconds after the restart. Another defensive error from the home side saw the ball fall to Kara Richardson. The Aylesford forward went through on goal and finished smartly to equalise for Aylesford.

The home side reacted well to the early setback and went close to restoring the lead minutes later. In the 51st minute, great work down the right from the Darts saw Elsa Ejupi cross across the box, the cross found Paris Smith, whose shot went just wide of the Aylesford goal.

The Darts continued to create chances and the lead was restored midway through the half.

In the 65th minute, Gabby Howell with a strike from distance, saw her shot fly beyond the keeper and nestle in the corner to put the home side back in front.

The visitors went close again to drawing level with a couple of chances minutes after going behind. In the 71st minute, a free kick from deep from Alex Witham was tipped over the bar by Darts keeper Jade Charlton. From the resulting corner, the ball fell to Millie Selfe, who headed narrowly past the post.

Minutes later, the home side went close to extending the lead as in the 73rd minute, a swift move from the home side saw Lottie Cunningham get in behind the Aylesford defence. The cross into the box found Darts captain Xayla-Rae Alberts whose shot went just past the post.

The Darts had to wait until added time to wrap up all three points. In the 93rd minute, a cross from the right found Paris Smith in the box. The Darts forward with a fine header from inside the 18yd box to secure all three points for the home side.

Darts Women extend their unbeaten run in 2026 after goals from Davies, Cunningham, Howell and Smith sees the Darts take all three points against Aylesford FC Ladies.
