Tottenham Hotspur battling Brighton for £43.5m Real Madrid attacker
Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on a Real Madrid attacker, who has found starts hard to come by at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Spurs have struggled to create chances all season, and adding more creative quality to their squad would thus be among the club’s priorities in the summer.
We have heard reports suggesting that Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers is Tottenham’s dream attacking target this summer, but the Lilywhites may struggle to push through that deal if they are not in the Champions League.
Spurs may thus need to turn to a more realistic option, and one Madrid teenager has now allegedly caught their eye.
Tottenham preparing offer for Real Madrid’s Franco Mastantuono
According to a report in El Nacional (as relayed by Fichajes), Real Madrid starlet Franco Mastantuono has emerged as a summer target for the Lilywhites.
The 19-year-old has just 15 league appearances at the Santiago Bernabeu this season, having been used as a substitute for many of them.
TEAMtalk say that Spurs have now emerged as the favourites to land Mastantuono and are now preparing an offer for the youngster.
The report adds that the Lilywhites see the Argentine as the ‘ideal player to revitalise their attack’, but they face competition from Brighton, who are also monitoring the versatile attacker ahead of the summer.
What is Madrid’s and Mastantuono’s stance on a summer transfer?
TEAMtalk say that the Argentina international is looking for an exit from the Spanish capital this summer as he wants regular game time.
Even though Mastantuono’s current deal runs until 2031, the player could be on his way to the Premier League this summer after just one season in Madrid.
The report adds that Madrid supremo Florentino Pérez will accept an offer close to €50m (£43.5m) for the talented left-footed player, who can operate as a number ten or on the right.
