What Igor Tudor said about Tottenham's Randal Kolo Muani during time together at Juventus
Igor Tudor talked about his admiration for Randal Kolo Muani in the past, and it could spell good things for the Tottenham striker.
The Spurs squad will have a new manager to work with when they return to Hotspur Way on Monday after their five-day break.
Tudor has admitted that his priority is to energise the Tottenham squad, which has looked extremely devoid of confidence over the last few months.
There is one player in the Spurs set up that the new interim Tottenham head coach already knows very well.
Igor Tudor praised Tottenham forward Randal Kolo Muani last season
Kolo Muani thrived under Tudor at Juventus in the back end of last season, with the Frenchman going from struggling for goals to bagging three goals in the Bianconeri’s final six Serie A matches in 2024-25.
The 47-year-old also spoke glowingly of the on-loan Paris Saint-Germain striker during his spell in Turin.
Soon after arriving at Juve, Tudor remarked (as relayed by Football.London): “We also have Kolo Muani, and their [alongside Dusan Vlahovic] presence is a big advantage for the team.”
Then, following Juve’s 2-0 win over Monza last season, when the forward found the back of the net in the first period, Tudor said: “I liked Kolo Muani’s performance a lot, especially from an attitude perspective: he was able to understand the match well, it was a complete performance.”
Why Tudor faces a difficult selection decision at Spurs
We know that Tudor’s preferred formation across his recent managerial career is a 3-4-2-1.
If the Croat does the same at Spurs, it will mean that Kolo Mauni would not have the choice of playing out wide, with the system relying on wing-backs rather than wingers to provide the width.
As a result, Kolo Mauni and Dominic Solanke may be in direct competition for the one number nine role, with Tudor having a difficult decision on his hands, given his affection for the France international.
