Murray Johnson Joins Greenock Morton On Loan

0 0

We can confirm that Murray Johnson has joined William Hill Championship side Greenock Morton on loan until the end of the 2025/26 season.

The 21-year-old goalkeeper joins up with the Cappielow outfit in search of competitive first-team minutes at a high level.

Managed by Ian Murray, Morton are currently seventh in the Championship with 13 league matches remaining.

Johnson has previously gained experience in the second tier with Airdrieonians, while his most recent loan move saw him provide cover for Queen of the South.

This season, the young goalkeeper has played five KDM Evolution Trophy matches for Hibs whilst training with First Team goalkeepers Raphael Sallinger and Jordan Smith.

Upon Johnson's loan move, Hibernian FC’s Sporting Director, Malky Mackay commented: "At Murray's stage of his career, we felt it was best for his development to be out on the pitch playing games - and this will be an excellent opportunity to test himself at a very competitive level in the Scottish Championship.

"We all look forward to monitoring his progress closely and wish him all the best between now and the end of the season at Greenock Morton."
