How new signing James Wilson performed in Tottenham debut for U21 team
James Wilson had a difficult introduction to life at Hotspur Way as Tottenham’s Under-21 side brushed aside Birmingham City in Premier League 2.
Wilson arrived at Tottenham on transfer deadline day from Scottish Premiership side Hearts, becoming the third and final signing for the Lilywhites in the January transfer window.
Spurs beat out Arsenal to the services of the 18-year-old centre-forward, who has gone into the Lilywhites’ U21 set-up rather than the senior squad.
The teenager made his debut for Wayne Burnett’s side on Sunday, and it was not an easy introduction to life at Tottenham Hotspur for the youngster.

Wilson started for Spurs and played 77 minutes as the home side thrashed Birmingham 4-0 at Hotspur Way.
However, the striker did not get much joy, ending the game goalless, having just one shot and one touch in the opposition box, according to Fotmob.
Wilson was tidy on the ball, completing 10 of 14 of his passes, including two long balls, which both found their intended target.
However, he did find it difficult to contest the balls played upto him, winning just two of his seven ground duels and just one of his six aerial duels.
Wilson is over the moon to be at Spurs
One would expect the teenager to improve as he settles into his new environment and becomes accustomed to this level.
Wilson is certainly excited to be at N17, with the forward admitting that it was a whirlwind end to the transfer window for him.
The striker told the club’s channel: “Yeah, I’m buzzing. Deadline day was a busy day, it all happened so quickly, and it’s nice to be down. I am buzzing to be at this club.
“It’ll be the first time leaving home, so even that will be a challenge just getting used to having to cook and clean for myself. It’s a great opportunity for me. It’s a new environment.
“I’ve been at Hearts since I was nine years old, so it’s something different and hopefully I can make the most of it.”
