Supercomputer predicts how likely Tottenham are to be relegated compared to West Ham

0 9

Opta’s Supercomputer has deduced how likely Tottenham Hotspur are to be relegated for the first time in Premier League history.

Some Tottenham supporters are genuinely worried about the possibility of relegation after the Lilywhites fell to a 2-0 loss at Man United on Saturday.

One can certainly understand their concern as the Lilywhites are now winless in seven Premier League matches.

West Ham’s win at Turf Moor on Saturday means that the Hammers, in 18th place, are just five points below the North Londoners.

Supercomputer says Tottenham are extremely unlikely to be relegated

Opta’s Supercomputer has given Spurs just a 2.29 per cent chance of finishing in the relegation zone this season.

The data analysis platform deduces that Wolves are already down, giving them a 100 per cent chance of being relegated, while Burnley are also all but done, with a 99.63 per cent chance of going down.

West Ham are the favourites to join the two clubs in the Championship next season, with Opta giving the Hammers a 73.63 per cent chance of being relegated.

Nottingham Forest have been deemed the next most likely to finish in the bottom three, being given a 15.41 per cent chance of doing so, followed by Leeds at 6.77 per cent.

Situation could get worse for the Spurs over the coming days

While these numbers suggest that Tottenham fans do not need to be overly concerned about relegation for now, the situation could escalate rapidly over the coming days.

Spurs are in the middle of a major injury crisis, which has left them severely depleted for their upcoming matches.

One could easily foresee Tottenham being beaten by both Newcastle and Arsenal over the next few days, which could leave them in an extremely precarious position.
