Ante Suto Joins Hibs!

We are delighted to confirm the permanent signing of Croatian-Australian striker Ante Suto from Slaven Belupo, subject to work permit approval.

The 25-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Club, with an option to extend for a further year. The terms of the transfer fee will remain undisclosed.

A product of the Hajduk Split youth academy, Suto started off his professional career with second-tier Croatia Zmijavci before moving to HNL outfit Slaven Belupo in 2024.

Our fifth addition of the January transfer window has enjoyed a strong campaign in the HNL – the top-flight of Croatian football – scoring four goals and providing six assists in 18 league matches this season.

The new recruit is comfortable playing on either flank, as well as through the middle in the traditional centre-forward position – carrying a strong attacking threat, wherever he is deployed on the pitch.

Hibernian FC Head Coach, David Gray commented: “Ante is another strong addition to our forward line and gives us a very direct threat in front of goal.

“He is a powerful player with a strong physical presence and he is a brilliant option to have because he is capable of playing out wide as well as through the middle.

“We’re delighted to bring him in on a permanent basis and look forward to working with him on the training pitch.”

Hibernian FC Sporting Director, Malky Mackay added: “We are pleased to welcome Ante to Hibernian FC and to get this deal over the line before the window closed.

“With Bowie’s departure, it was important that we added extra strength and depth to our forward areas – Ante brings exactly that and is another excellent character to add to the building.

“He is a player who is coming into the prime of his career, and I am looking forward to watching him progress, once he has settled into Scottish Football.”
