Daniel Levy in talks over major Tottenham Hotspur decision
Daniel Levy departed as the executive chairman of Tottenham Hotspur last October and is now said to be in talks over selling his stake in the club.
Levy was the longest-serving chairperson in the Premier League before his exit, having been in his role at Tottenham Hotspur for nearly 25 years.
However, Levy was dismissed from his role at Spurs last October, following a summer where the club struggled to get some big-money deals over the line. The most notable of which involved Eberechi Eze and Morgan Gibbs-White.
Even though the Essex-born businessman may no longer be seen in the directors’ box at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on matchdays, he does still own a stake in the club.
Daniel Levy could sell his stake in Tottenham
Levy’s shares in Spurs are now the subject of potential interest, according to Bloomberg, with sources close to the matter suggesting the former chairman is in talks to sell his stake.
It is said that Levy is in talks to sell his nearly 30 per cent stake in Tottenham Hotspur to a consortium which includes Hong Kong businessman Ng Wing Fai.
Any potential sale of Levy’s shares will cost in the region of £1 billion with most of the potential purchase capital being funded by a number of unidentified Asian business tycoons.
Neither Mr Wing Fai nor Levy have opted to comment publicly on the matter, but the Lewis Family have told Bloomberg they are not in the loop regarding any negotiations involving Levy.
Ng Wing Fai has previously shown interest in Spurs
Tottenham received a takeover bid from Firehawk Holdings Limited last summer and Ng was part of this consortium. However, the offer was ultimately rejected by the Lewis Family, who were keen on being the ones to oversee the club’s future.
It appears the man from Hong Kong could allegedly have another shot at getting a slice of the pie at Tottenham. Still, everything depends on whether Levy wants to sell or not, and there is no guarantee at this point in time that a deal will commence.
