Re: The Birmingham City transfers that could still happen after Carlos Vicente deal

The fact that Cochrane is out long term and we're seemingly not targeting a replacement suggests to me they're happy with Buchanan's recovery.

Buchanan was on the Blue Rising episode Blues posted on 6th November. The link is below, skip to 6 minutes.

He said at that point he had been back out on the grass for about 6 weeks, then had a little niggle on his calf, but should be back out on the grass training again "a week on Monday". Depending on which Monday we was referring to, that would have been around the 10th or 17th November he was scheduled to be back out in training.

6 weeks prior to 6th November would have meant he was back out on the grass in light training from mid-September, and possibly earlier if the calf injury had kept him out for any length of time.

Now it's very difficult to come back from those horror injuries, and recurring niggles are to be expected as you aim to regain fitness. However, I think we can guesstimate that Buchanan has been back in training for the best part of 4 or 5 months, and so is hopefully far beyond the light training phase. Fingers crossed we see him make an appearance for the u21s soon.
