Queen’s Park v Raith Rovers – KDM Evolution Trophy quarter-final preview

0 2

QUEEN’S PARK meet Raith Rovers for the second time in the space of four days, with the Fife side the opposition for the KDM Evolution Trophy quarter final.

The Spiders were on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline on Saturday in Kirkcaldy, with all attention now on the action on the southside.

The home side will be hoping for a performance, and result, more suited to the last game in Mount Florida than

Rovers’ last visit was the final game under Barry Robson ending in a 2-1 win for Sean Crighton’s Spiders after a Josh Fowler double.

None of the previous count though with the match  having to be settled on the night.

The teams meet again after their weekend fixture

Premier Sports cameras will be at The city Stadium to broadcast the match to the country and referee is Sean Murdoch.

Looking ahead

Sean Crighton’s head coach previews are sponsored by Glasgow Clyde College.

The head coach, and assistant Jim Duffy, are sponsored by PTS Clean this season.

Jamie Bradley’s home shirt is sponsored by Graeme and Lorna Shields, with opportunities still open for the midfielder’s boots, away kit and third kit.

The Season so far...

While the teams couldn’t be separated on the opening day, sharing a point a piece and a penalty kick apiece, the following two meetings have gone the way of the home side.

Raith were the visitors when Sean Crighton’s side registered their first league win of the season, and just four days ago, Dougie Imrie registered his second league success at Stark’s Park with a win over Queen’s Park.

That included a hat-trick for Jack Hamilton, and Sean Crighton urging his side back to basics for tonight’s visit.

The defeat also consigned the Spiders to bottom spot in the William Hill Championship after Ross County’s late win.

Seb Drozd scored the Spiders goal in Fife

A semi-final awaits the winner of this one, with either Airdrie or Arbroath away in the final four, next month.
