Juventus closer to full En-Nesyri agreement, despite Mateta being eager
While Jean-Philippe Mateta would favour Juventus, the Crystal Palace asking price means they are instead close to a full agreement for Fenerbahce striker Youssef En-Nesyri.
The Bianconeri need a new forward in the January transfer window, as Dusan Vlahovic has a serious injury and his contract will expire at the end of the season anyway.
Multiple sources including Fabrizio Romano and La Gazzetta dello Sport confirmed today that first choice Mateta has put in a transfer request to Crystal Palace, pointing out he will only accept Serie A or the Premier League as his next destination.
However, the asking price and demand for a permanent deal with guarantees are putting Juve off.
Mateta first choice, but En-Nesyri stronger Juventus candidate
With this in mind, there are fresh reports of meetings between Juventus and the agent representing En-Nesyri, who just returned to Fenerbahce after the Africa Cup of Nations experience with Morocco.
Napoli are also said to be among those interested in the 28-year-old, but the Bianconeri are due to meet with his agents again today.
Turkish sources report Juventus have already agreed personal terms, and Fenerbahce would accept the loan with obligation to buy at the end of the season.
Unlike Napoli, who first must sell Lorenzo Lucca, Juve are in a position to get a deal over the line quickly.
