New Stadio della Roma project set to be 60,605 seater arena
More details are emerging on the new Stadio della Roma project, which will reportedly have 60,605 seats and is aiming to be completed in 2031.
The arena has been in the works for well over a decade, but due to the various problems in finding the right venue for a new stadium, was forced to move around several times.
The club finally managed to reach an agreement with the local authorities to focus on the Pietralata area of the Eternal City.
Stadio della Roma should be ready in 2031
Il Messaggero and Calcio e Finanza saw the paperwork, which confirmed it will be a stadium seating 60,605 people, and that the Curva Sud for the most passionate ultras will be even more imposing because it stands nine metres higher than the away end.
The 22 entrances to the stadium will be dedicated to 22 neighbourhoods in Rome.
It is hoped that construction will begin in 2027 and be completed in 2031, at a cost of €1.377 bn.
Along with the stadium, Roma aim to create two parks around it and enough parking spaces for 2,280 vehicles, with improvements planned for the closest Metro station of Quintiliani.
This paperwork does also involve the predicted revenue of Roma having their own stadium, which is set at €153.6m for the first year, growing to €156m in the second, and to €165m by 2035.
