Jaylen Brown Named NBA All-Star Game Starter Amid MVP-Caliber Season

Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown was in danger of missing out on yet another starting nod in the NBA All-Star Game this season when the second batch of fan voting results were released in early January.

Behind an MVP-caliber season though, “JB” made a late push and has secured the first starting gig of his career for the midseason showcase.

Brown was named one of the Eastern Conference’s starting five on Monday, alongside Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson, Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey and Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham.

“Jaylen Brown named a starter in this year’s NBA All-Starter Game. Brown has also played his way into being a top-5 MVP candidate on NBA dot com’s MVP ladder,” Celtics reporter Bobby Krivitsky posted on Bluesky.

This is the 29-year-old’s fourth All-Star honor in a row and fifth overall.

Brown is averaging career highs in points (29.7) and assists (4.8) per game across 38 contests while posting a .491/.367/.791 shooting line.
