Tottenham make Antonin Kinsky demand as Wolves consider January move

0 2

Tottenham may be looking to sign some players this month, but there’s also fresh talk of Antonin Kinsky leaving the club in the new year, too.

The Czech goalkeeper only joined Tottenham a year ago, but he’s struggled to establish himself as the number one goalkeeper at the club.

With Guglielmo Vicario still Thomas Frank’s preferred choice between the sticks, no one could blame Antonin Kinsky for wanting to move on.

There has already been interest from Besiktas for Kinsky, but now Wolves may be ready to offer him the chance to stay in the Premier League.

Tottenham will let Antonin Kinsky leave on one condition

That’s according to Czech outlet inFotbal.cz, who claim Wolves have made an approach for the 22-year-old with a view to signing him on loan this month.

With Wolves struggling to get out of the relegation zone all season, they have flitted between both Jose Sa and Sam Johnstone in goal, but neither has been consistent enough.

That’s where Kinsky comes in, with Wolves hoping he can solve their defensive woes. Apparently, informal talks have been held already, although the Midlands club may now be putting their plans on hold as they have one eye on relegation already.

The problem is Spurs are not keen to let Kinsky go. In order to sanction a move, the Lilywhites would demand that the player’s wages be paid in full for the duration of the loan spell.

German side Freigburg were also keen, but they have reportedly rejected that payment structure and won’t be pursuing the deal any further.

Letting Kinsky go would be a mistake

With all this in mind, it may well be that Besiktas do land Kinsky in the end. However, letting the ‘keeper go would not be a good idea for Spurs.

While Vicario may be number one right now, he’s been criticised for his errors this season and you never know when a change will be needed.

Kinsky is dinstinctly better than Brandon Austin, and losing him would leave Tottenham worrying short of quality between the sticks.
