Serie A: Genoa vs. Cagliari – Confirmed line-ups and updates
Genoa are hoping to put breathing room between themselves and the Serie A relegation zone when they take on Cagliari in a six-pointer on Monday afternoon, and have made just one change following Thursday’s encouraging 1-1 draw with Milan.
Genoa sit one place above the relegation zone ahead of kick-off with 16 points to their name after the first 19 matches of the 2025-26 campaign. Cagliari are two places and three points above them. in 15th place on 19 points from 19 games.
Both teams were held to draws in their most recent Serie A fixtures. Daniele De Rossi’s side were unfortunate not to have taken all three points away against Milan on Thursday night: Nicolae Stanciu missing a penalty with virtually the last kick of the game at 1-1.
De Rossi has kept almost the exact same line-up after the encouraging display against the Rossoneri, bringing in Mikael Ellertsson in place of the injured Morten Thorsby in the only, enforced, change.
Cagliari fought back to claim a 2-2 draw away against Cremonese last time out, and have also stuck with a similar starting XI: Adam Obert, Luca Mazzitelli, Semih Kilicsoy and Sebastiano Esposito come into the team while Yerry Mina, Gabriele Zappa, Gennaro Borrelli and Gianluca Gaetano drop out.
Kick-off on Monday is due at 17.30 GMT.
