Supercomputer predicts Tottenham’s Premier League finish after draw to Sunderland
Opta’s Supercomputer has updated its predicted Premier League table after Tottenham’s 1-1 draw against Sunderland.
Spurs fans would have hoped that 2026 would bring better fortunes at home after a historically bad 2025 season at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
However, the year has not got off to the best of starts, with the Lilywhites following up their 0-0 draw against Brentford with a 1-1 draw against the Blackcats in their first home game of the season.
Predictably, the home fans booed the side once again after the final whistle on Sunday, which has become a common occurrence in North London under Thomas Frank.
Opta predict where Tottenham will finish in the Premier League
Spurs now sit in 13th place with 27 points on the board after 20 league matches, which is far from where many would have expected the club to be at this stage of the season.
Opta’s Supercomputer predicts that Tottenham will jump three places in the standings and end the season in 10th place.
The data analysis expects the Lilywhites to end the campaign with 51.6 points, with the likes of Brighton and Brentford expected to finish above Spurs.
Are Spurs still in the race for Champions League qualification?
Strangely, despite all that has gone wrong at Tottenham this term, Frank’s men are still only four points off Chelsea in 5th place, which is likely to be enough for Champions League qualification once again this season.
That perhaps demonstrates how close the league is this season, with almost all teams taking points off each other.
However, Opta give Spurs just a 1.7 per cent chance of being in Europe’s premier club tournament next season.
