Patriots Fans Will Love How Will Campbell Sums Up Relationship With Mike Vrabel
Will Campbell was exactly what Mike Vrabel was looking for, and their connection portrays one of the biggest reasons why the Patriots have excelled this season.
Speaking to reporters after the Patriots beat the Dolphins in their regular-season finale on Sunday, the first-round rookie summed up his relationship with Vrabel in a way the Foxboro Faithful surely will appreciate.
“The first time I met him, we definitely hit it off,” Campbell told reporters after the 38-10 win, per MassLive’s Chris Mason. “We’re very similar. But I just feel like it is very rare to have a coach like him that can connect with so many different personalities on the team.
“I don’t ever want to have to play for anybody else. I feel like that’s the best way to sum it up.”

Campbell returned to the field in Week 18 after a stint on injured reserve due to a knee injury. He hadn’t played since Week 12.
During that time, though, Campbell traveled with the team and made sure he was getting in as much work as possible behind the scenes. It was a way to support his teammates, who, like Vrabel, are responsible for Campbell enjoying his rookie season.
“This is the most fun I’ve had playing football since high school,” Campbell told reporters. “All you hear about whenever you’re going into the league as a rookie is, ‘It’s not like college, enjoy college. You don’t have that close bond (as a) team, (with) your coaches.’
“I feel like that’s complete BS because this team has done nothing but prove that wrong,” Campbell said.
